Team Canada Atlantic came about in 1998, born of a vision by the Conference of Atlantic Premiers.
Established to enhance the export capabilities and performance of this region's small and medium-sized businesses, the first Team Canada Atlantic trade mission to New England, in 1999, involved 40 Atlantic Canadian companies led by the four Atlantic premiers.
Between 1999 and 2007, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) partnered with the four Atlantic provinces to coordinate and execute a total of fourteen successful missions to New England, New York, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Chicago and Florida.
TCA missions have helped more than 530 Atlantic Canadian entrepreneurs to meet with more than 3,665 buyers, agents and business owners from across the United States, resulting in approximately $45.71 million in sales.
