New York - May 2002
| From May 21-23, 2002, the Minister of State for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the four Atlantic Premiers led a business delegation of 48 Atlantic Canadian companies on Team Canada Atlantic's first trade mission to New York City to explore trade and investment opportunities.
New York is the uncontested international business and financial centre of the United States. With a population equivalent to Canada's and a GDP nearly 50% greater, the greater New York area is obviously a critical market for Atlantic Canada's exporting industries. [click to enlarge] |
| There were approximately 300 meetings held between companies in Atlantic Canada and firms in New York City. Complete results of the success of these meetings are yet to be finalized, but early responses would indicate that companies had a very successful week in New York. |
