New England, a large and prosperous market with strong transportation, cultural and historical links to Atlantic Canada, presented an exciting challenge to Atlantic Canadian companies.
Building on the success of the Team Canada Atlantic trade missions to New England in 1999 and 2000, the federal and Atlantic provincial ministers of trade led a delegation of 37 companies on a follow-up trade mission to New England from February 25 to March 1 to research market opportunities, expand their current customer base, and explore potential partnerships that could be developed between these two coastal markets.
This mission was considered a success by Atlantic Canadian companies, who attended approximately 290 meetings with New England firms.
